ENGLISH TRANSLATION
The affidavit (atto notorio) consists of a declaration made by two witnesses (adults, not relatives or in-laws of the applicant, holding civil rights and unrelated to the matter) before a public official and under oath, concerning conditions, personal qualities, or facts known to the declarants and publicly known.
The affidavit is prepared by the clerk’s office and signed by the applicant and the witnesses in the presence of the official.
If there are multiple heirs, the presence of only one of them is sufficient.

PROCESSING TIME
A certified copy of the affidavit will be available for collection by the applicant or an authorized delegate after three days.
For immediate collection, an additional two revenue stamps of €11.79 each are required.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Valid identification documents of the applicant and the witnesses must be presented.
AFFIDAVIT FOR CITIZENSHIP
Send by email to successioni.tribunale.trieste@giustizia.it at least one week before the scheduled appointment date the following information and documents:
- Surname, name, date and place of birth, and current residence of the applicant (include the information in the email text and attach photos of both residence permit and ID card)
- Surname, name, date and place of birth, and current residence of the witnesses (include the information in the email text and attach photos of their ID documents)
- Surname and name of the applicant’s father and mother
- Indicate whether the applicant is married or single
- Indicate whether the applicant is a refugee or under subsidiary protection
- Indicate the applicant’s citizenship
